Transient Guests

Transient Guests are guests making reservation on their own, usually directly with the hotel. Transient guests fall into three categories:
  • Walk ins – guests who arrived at the hotel and are being quoted the rate right at the front desk
  • On line reservations – made directly through hotel’s website or hotel’s app
  • Phone reservations – made through call center

Transient guests are characterized by the following:
  • In majority of hotels they represent a slightly older demographics
  • They tend to pay a higher rate, also they are more likely to upgrade into a suite
  • Transient guests usually are the most profitable ones since the hotel doesn’t have to pay OTA fees.
